Angela Thouless

I have been tackling the subject of urban life since graduating in1999 from Gray’s School Of Art with a BA (Hons) in Painting, going on to receive a Postgraduate Diploma/Masters in Art & Design in 2000.

Since 2007 my work has dealt with the city.  My paintings celebrate the patterns, textures, and surfaces of urban life, calling attention to the rich imagery that we too often overlook in our hectic daily migrations.

In 2013 I turned my attention to images inspired by my many trips to Amsterdam and the whole visual urban experience. In 2015 my work was featured at Het Kunstenaarsbal (Amsterdam Cultural Festival).

I have exhibited my work across the UK and further afield.  As well as painting large scale canvases I also produce wall murals.  As part of the ThrowUp Gallery collective I have been involved in delivering a number of street art projects and workshops.

In 2018 I won Top Creative Artist at the Aberdeen Fashion Week Arts, Media and Fashion Awards.

In 2019 I set up Tribal All a local t-shirt brand.
